How To Add Music or MP3 Songs in Your Blogspot Blog

*UPDATE: Read this post to add a better and more customizable MP3/Music players to your blog : Add MP3 player to your blog
If you want to embed any music file or mp3 in to your website, so that your listeners can enjoy it, then here's a simple way to do it !

First of all you need a DIRECT link of the song/ mp3 file.
So upload it to:
MyDataNest (Recommended), or
NOTE: Edit & save the folder properties at your MyDataNest account as "Hidden" and NOT as "Private".
FileDen.com

Now you will be having a link to your music file like this:
http://mydatanest.com/xt...5dj/We_wish_you_a_merry_christmas2.mp3

Now use the code, displayed below:
<embed src= "http://www.odeo.com/flash/audio_player_standard_gray.swf" quality="high" width="300" height="52" allowScriptAccess="always" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars= "valid_sample_rate=true&external_url=YOUR MP3 FILE ADDRESS" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"> </embed>
This displays the file/song like this:

To give it a black look, copy this code:
<embed src= "http://www.odeo.com/flash/audio_player_standard_black.swf" quality="high" width="300" height="52" allowScriptAccess="always" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars= "valid_sample_rate=true&external_url=YOUR MP3 FILE ADDRESS" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"> </embed>

This displays the file/song like this:

To start the music on-it's-own, use this code:
For Gray player:

<embed src= "http://www.odeo.com/flash/audio_player_standard_gray.swf" quality="high" width="300" height="52" allowScriptAccess="always" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars= "auto_play=true&amp;valid_sample_rate=true&external_url=YOUR MP3 FILE ADDRESS" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"> </embed>

For Black player

<embed src= "http://www.odeo.com/flash/audio_player_standard_black.swf" quality="high" width="300" height="52" allowScriptAccess="always" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars= "auto_play=true&amp;valid_sample_rate=true&external_url=YOUR MP3 FILE ADDRESS" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"> </embed>

Down again-how do I create a swf that I can put up on my server, so this player will work regardless of odeo?

Hi Awax,

There's nothing to go wrong in this...may be the server at odeo was down for a few minutes...anyways I just visited your blog and found a player by imeem, that's looking cool too, so do still want to add this one or are you happy with the imeem player ?

Regards
Sai

Hi Sai,

Thanks alot for the response, after my earlier post did a bit more searching on the net and found the Imeem player which is alot more easier to use, and can hold a lot more mp3's so will probably stick with that one.
Thanks again

Awax

Ya I have mainly written this article to suggest a player which can be used in special occasions like Xmas, New Year, B'Day etc. where you basically need a single song to play in the blog.

But in case you need to play multiple music files, then of course you can use imeem or any of the players listed in the link in my previous comment (http://news.cnet.com/8301-17939_109-9758036-2.html)

Sai

thanks. I have opened a imeen account but dont know how to put the player into my blogspot. Can you please help me? I guess its pretty basic, but still i cant seem to figure it out!

Divya Sai said...

@Guest
There's no need to open a/c in imeem
Simply upoload an mp3 file to hotlinkfiles.com and copy the DIRECT LINK to the mp3.
Then in the code shown above, paste the DIRECT LINK of mp3 and embed the whole code in to your blog. That's it !

any help?

I just listned to "Priceless by Melanie Fiona" on your blog, and it was working nicely.
On your homepage, there are too many music players, I will suggest you to either use 1 or show these players only in the post-pages and not in the homepage.

Divya Sai said...

Use this method to hide the players in homepage and show them only in post pages.
