NetLimiter - Check Which Sofware Is Using Your Internet

Whether you are having an Internet connection with limited or unlimited bandwidth, you surely cannot allow all your Internet based software to access Internet at the same time.
While you can control/prevent some software from using your precious Internet, but in certain cases the software would be working silently and thus slowing down your connection speed.
Just by checking your Windows Task Manager is definitely not enough to have a control over these annoying software.

So here's a perfect software (available as freeware as well as shareware):

In their own words:
NetLimiter is an ultimate internet traffic control and monitoring tool designed for Windows. You can use NetLimiter to set download/upload transfer rate limits for applications or even single connection and monitor their internet traffic.

Along with this unique feature, Netlimiter offers comprehensive set of internet statistical tools. It includes real-time traffic measurement and long-term per-application internet traffic statistics

You can either purchase their Pro and Lite versions (allows you to monitor and control), or you can download and use their freeware - NetLimiter 2 Monitor - and simply control the software yourself :)

You can also use this software to check whether you have a problem with your ISP or if any software is causing any problem. As in my own PC sometimes Firefox hangs or obstructs the Internet connection....

Find and Remove Broken Links From Your Blog

You may never like to see signs like "Road Ends Here", "Dead End" or "Under Construction", similarly search engines also do hate blogs with links which lead to no-where. So one of the Search Engine Optimization techniques involve removing all the broken or invalid links from your blog.
As it is not easy to find each and every broken link on your blog, so you can rather use this simple tool which can easily scan your blog for broken links:
After checking your blog for the invalid links, simply either edit or remove them.

Other than this tool, there is an other way too. You can sign up at Google Webmaster tools, where you have to submit your blog's sitemap. Then with frequent updates and reports from Google, you will be shown a list of links on your blog, which no more exists. But these are ONLY those links which are on your own domain. So it is better to use both of the explained methods.

Encrypt or Hide Your HTML Source Code

Almost everything on Internet is susceptible to theft. When computers at Pentagon can be hacked by some Chinese hackers, then how can you make sure your blog or website is secured against them.
Although your blog may not be having something of national importance but, certainly you will not like to get your content stolen by others.
The easiest way through which visitors can take away and use your content is by checking the 'source code' of your blog and copying it.
While checking the source code, they look for some common markers in the code, like footer or sidebar headings, or image 'alt' tags etc.

Now see these two codes:
1. A simple hyperlink;
<a href="" target="_blank">BloggerStop.Net</a>

2. Highly encrypted javascript code;
<Script Language='Javascript'>
If you use any of the two codes above, the result will be the same (a link to BloggerStop.Net), while the 'source code' will be completely different and totally alien to most of the users to understand.

Here's the tool to do similar encryption of any HTML code and not just hyperlinks:
ISDNtek (select "full encoding")
So now at least your content will be safe from the newbie bloggers and webmasters :)

NOTE: Do not use this for every widget on your blog, as these are all in javascript which can slow down your blog. So at maximum I would suggest you to use this method for 1/2 widgets per page.

Embed Free Flash Clocks In Your Blog / Website

Recently I found a great resource for embeddable flash clocks - FreeFlashClocks. The clocks are completely free to use, without any logos or backlinks. In the words of the administrators, 'Lyon and Louise';
...we have a dream, and that is to provide the most cool and most awesome free flash clocks to the entire internet, flash clocks for free, with great quality, and without any logos and without any links of the original owner or creator...
You simply have to copy the HTML code from their website and add it to your blog/website.
And particularly for blogger/BlogSpot blogs, you have to follow these steps:
Sign in to Blogger, go to Layout, and click on "Add a Gadget", and select it as "HTML/JavaScript" type, and finally add the HTML code in to it. That's it !

Google Gmail Server Is Down - Surfers Suffering !

Gmail is down today and panic is everywhere. As I have redirected all my mails to my Gmail account, so I don't have any other choice but to wait till they troubleshoot their servers.
But the problem is that, even the Engineers at Google do not know what went wrong, here's what they have to say on this:
"We aren't sure what the problem is. Our engineers are working on it," a spokesman for Google told Pocket-lint.
According to the comments at pocket-lint the problem is not limited to any specific country, but all over the world, people are unable to access to their mail acounts.
The problem started at around 10.20 GMT [present time]
I think I should better take a tea break, and return to my work :)

Blogger Template By BloggerStop.Net

I have finally created a complete theme/template for Blogger blogs. Being the first creation, please do not expect too many features in it :)
I have tried to keep it in a simple way, so that your blog loads easily which will make your blog more search engine friendly and most importantly I wanted to create this, within 2 days !

But of course I'll try to make more templates in future,  with many more added features.

This theme is designed by Craig Edmonds for WordPress blogs, and I have converted it for Blogger blogs. I request all the readers to give their reviews and opinion on this template, and of course as many suggestions as possible, so as to improve it further!

Rather than adding a screen shot here, I think you should directly see the demo blog:

*UPDATE: To see the preview of this template and to download this template, please see go to this post:

Chococons - Chocolaty Social Bookmarking Buttons

Social bookmarking buttons need to be visible clearly in a blog, well separated from your regular content and articles.
More the creativity you add to these buttons, more are the chances of them being clicked by the visitors.
And what else can be more tempting than chocolates?

Download these icons from here

Credits: Zeusbox Studio has created these wonderful buttons for various social networking sites in different sizes (from 32x32 to 512x512 dimensions)

Add a Fish Tank / Aquarium To Your BlogSpot or Blogger Blog

Click anywhere in the tank below, to feed the fish:

I love to look and feed fish in aquariums, while it is of course not possible in a computer, but you can do it in a virtual aquarium, and best part of it - the aquarium can be placed/embedded in your blog.

Here's the HTML code for the widget:
<div style="text-align: center;"><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" style="outline:none;" data="" width="300" height="200"><param name="movie" value=""></param><param name="AllowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><param name="wmode" value="opaque"></param><param name="scale" value="noscale"/><param name="salign" value="tl"/></object></div>

To customize the fish tank (number of fish or color of fish), visit this site: fish gadget.

To add this in to your blogger blog, follow these steps:
Log in to Blogger
Go to Layout -> Click on "Add a Gadget" -> select "HTML/JavaScript" type.
And add the code in to it.

And you know what, plural of fish is also fish :)
So feed the fish above !

And other than this aquarium, you can add a cute hamster, scary spider, turtles or penguins too.

And if you like Physics, then you can embed a gadget which proves Newton's third law of motion:
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction

Drag any ball and then leave it...

Code for the above widget:
<center><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" style="outline:none;" data="" width="300" height="225"><param name="movie" value=""></param><param name="AllowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><param name="wmode" value="opaque"></param></object></center>

Create Background (Fractal) Images For Your Blog / Website

You can create these fractal images in different dimensions and colors and with different transparency levels. And once you create any image, take the screen shot [PrtScr] and paste it in MS Paint, to save it as an image. And finally you can use them as background images in your blogs.

If you want to create images like those shown above (of course within minutes and without touching Photoshop), then visit this site: Guilloche

How to get better traffic from BlogExplosion

Updated on 21st September, 2016: The websites mentioned in this post like BlogExplosion and EntreCard do not exist now. You may try MGID or other organic ways to increase your blog traffic.

increase blog trafficWhether you are an expert blogger or a newbie, getting more and more quality traffic is your primary goal. And that is why you join websites like EntreCard, LinkReferral and BlogExplosion.
But gradually when you get bored with their auto or manual surfing system, you will stop using their services.
But what I suggest is NOT to stop using these websites, one of the most obvious reasons is that, the traffic from these websites will certainly help you in building a better rank in Alexa, because most of the visitors would be webmasters or bloggers like you, with installed Alexa toolbar or Alexa sparky in their browsers.
And other than getting better rank, some simple strategies can help you to get QUALITY traffic, that would not only visit your blog just as their daily surfing routine but will also visit the internal pages of your blog, and may even subscribe to your blog.

Here's what you have to do in BlogExplosion:
As already discussed, just surfing to get traffic in return is a wastage of time.
So just visit 1 site everyday through their surf tool.
The first step is a requirement of the second step, so it has to be done.
Now the important step(2nd step): Go to BlogRocket in BlogExplosion.
And add your blog in the Blog Rocket list.

NOTE: Make sure that you have written correct and attractive description of your blog.
Now depending on the description you have given, your site/blog may get anywhere between 5 to 15 QUALITY traffic (because most of these people will first read the description and then visit your blog, only if they think your blog is worth a visit).

Keep an eye on this blog, as I will soon be writing a post on how to better traffic from EntreCard and build links using EntreCard.

Add, Edit or Delete Labels In Blogger / BlogSpot Blogs

Your blog must be having more than one labels or categories, and when a visitor visits your blog from search engines like Google or Yahoo, then most probably he/she will land on a specific page/post of your blog. And if the reader likes the post, he/she will definitely search for similar topics on the blog, and this is exactly where, labels and categories will help the visitor. But again, the number and names of the labels are very important.
May be, initially you would not have given enough importance to these labels. And now when you realized the importance, you may find tens and hundreds of posts in your blog with improper labels, which need to be edited, or you may even want to delete some of the labels you have already added, or you may want to add some new labels to your previous posts.

New Customized Popular Posts Widget For Blogger

Recently I have posted an article on How to add a popular posts widget to your Blogger/BlogSpot blog. And the widget is being provided in three variations viz;
  • Post Title (**comments)
  • Post Title (**)
  • Post Title
where ** corresponds to number of comments. You can use any one of those styles.
But if you want to further modify the looks of the widget, something like the one shown below, then you have to modify the previous codes, as described below:

Here's the code for the above widget:

<div style="background:url( no-repeat;">
And other than that background you can use some small images too...

<div style="background:url( repeat;">
Or something like this:

<div style="background:url( repeat;">
For more background images, you can visit this post [70+ Background images for blogs], or you can manually search from Google Image search etc.

NOTE: Use repeat for smaller images and no-repeat for larger images !

Google Is Now Almost First On Alexa Ranking System

Many people do not consider Alexa ranking as accurate, because it does not count those visitors who do not have Alexa toolbar or Alexa sparky installed on their computers. But then, there are many websites and webmasters who still love to see their web sites ranking better in Alexa.

Another issue which is quite famous with Alexa is that, it ranks Yahoo! at 1st position, while among the web surfers, Google is generally more popular than Yahoo.
The most common reason for Google being at 2nd position is that, Google redirects most of it's users from it's gTLD ".com" to various ccTLDs like "" or "" or "" etc. And moreover many other services or web sites from Google like or or are not counted in to Google by Alexa and so they have their own Alexa ranks, when you add all the traffic of these websites to Google, then Google will clearly leave Yahoo! far behind.

But right now I am NOT talking about the other services or websites of Google.
I am just considering vs For the first time is now overtaking according to Alexa.

Look at these 3 months and 1 year graphs:-
So here, in the next two screenshots you can see that Google has been already been given #1 position for it's daily and weekly traffic.
While Yahoo is now at #2.

So for those who do not beleive Alexa's reports, then here's the comparison from
