  1. If you are talking about those 'pictures+text widget' from MGID, then its not an advertisement. It is like that 'similar posts widget' from linkwithin, but in this case, the links being shown are from other websites. No monetary benefits are there, but similar widgets are shown in other blogs where your site will be displayed and visitors will come to you.
