In Blogger (and WordPress) post titles are made up of two elements: (1) Actual Post Title and (2) Your Blog’s Name. And you have a choice to display this combination as either:
Blog Name | Post Title
Post Title | Blog Name
(optimized for Search Engines)
In Blogger, the default way of displaying the title is definitely not SEO friendly. Showing your blog name before the article title hides important keywords which “must” be present in your title. This is because, search engines like Google cannot show complete titles in search results and they usually truncate the name after a certain number of characters (at the time of writing this tutorial it is somewhere around 70 characters).
In the above screenshot, you can see that the first few characters are being eaten up by the blog name. And this is definitely not recommended as your blog name will not always have the keywords. In fact it is your post-specific title that will have the keywords which you want Search Engines to notice easily and certainly not miss them.
So, read this simple tutorial to quickly swap the title and blog name for all the post titles in your Blogger/BlogSpot blog. This will fix all your existing posts and the ones that you will publish in future.
