How To Add Music or MP3 Songs in Your Blogspot Blog

*UPDATE 06 October’16: Google Media Player is no longer working. So, read this new tutorial to add a better and more customizable MP3/Music player to your blog : Add MP3 player to your blog
If you want to embed any music file or mp3 in to your website so that your audience can listen and enjoy it, then here’s a simple way to do it !

First of all you need a DIRECT link of the song/ mp3 file.
So upload it to:
OpenDrive

Now you will be having a link to your music file like this:
http://www.opendrive.com/files/7285877_812bb/airtel_1.mp3
Use the code, displayed below:

<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://www.google.com/reader/ui/3523697345-audio-player.swf?audioUrl=YOUR_MP3_FILE_ADDRESS" height="27" width="320"></embed>

Replace the text in RED, with the DIRECT LINK of the MP3 file (from your OpenDrive account).
This plays the song like this:

Google has stopped providing the free player 🙁

  2. Hi Awax,

There’s nothing to go wrong in this…may be the server at odeo was down for a few minutes…anyways I just visited your blog and found a player by imeem, that’s looking cool too, so do still want to add this one or are you happy with the imeem player ?

    Regards
    Sai

  3. Hi Sai,

Thanks alot for the response, after my earlier post did a bit more searching on the net and found the Imeem player which is alot more easier to use, and can hold a lot more mp3’s so will probably stick with that one.
    Thanks again

    Awax

  4. Ya I have mainly written this article to suggest a player which can be used in special occasions like Xmas, New Year, B’Day etc. where you basically need a single song to play in the blog.

But in case you need to play multiple music files, then of course you can use imeem or any of the players listed in the link in my previous comment (http://news.cnet.com/8301-17939_109-9758036-2.html)

    Regards
    Sai

  5. I wanted to make the song play over and over again, what is the code for that? by meaning people wont be able to shut it off. thanks

  6. thanks. I have opened a imeen account but dont know how to put the player into my blogspot. Can you please help me? I guess its pretty basic, but still i cant seem to figure it out!

  7. @Guest
There's no need to open a/c in imeem
Simply upoload an mp3 file to hotlinkfiles.com and copy the DIRECT LINK to the mp3.
Then in the code shown above, paste the DIRECT LINK of mp3 and embed the whole code in to your blog. That's it !

  8. I just listned to "Priceless by Melanie Fiona" on your blog, and it was working nicely.
On your homepage, there are too many music players, I will suggest you to either use 1 or show these players only in the post-pages and not in the homepage.

  9. Thanks a whole bunch! Your information and file hosting site works wonderfully. I had been online for some time trying to find out how to do this. Many thanks.

  10. Go to the tab – "Folders"
Then against the folder, where your files are stored, click on "Edit".
Now select the radio button "Hidden"
    and save your selection.

  12. Sorry about the delete above I used the wrong smiliey code.

  13. Cool blog as for me. It would be great to read a bit more about that topic. I have added this to my blog, but it does not seem to want to play.. it saying loading then straight after that it says stopped, is it something im doing incorrectly? Thanks for sharing.

  14. Help please. I am using box.net for my audio uploads. When I embed my code (provided by box.net) into a post, the player is embedded but it does not play. It plays perfect when tested on the box site. Also, since I am a foreign language instructor, I would love a player that I can embed which allows my students to slow down the speed without distortion similar to the Yabla player. Is there such a player available for embed into blog? http://escuchandoconlaprofesora.blogspot.com/

  15. Hello Monica,
Box.net provides links which are not hotlinks/direct links, so you cannot use them here.
Use the signup link to opendrive from the post above, upload your songs there and then use the DIRECT LINKs to the songs in the player.

  16. Hello guys, i will be grateful if there is someone know the solution about my problem.
Can you guys help me to identify why there is 2 different output after users upload their music into OpenDrive.

    2. https://www.opendrive.com/files?NF8yNTAxMzMxX0xVaVlB

I demand to open it in a simple form link just like the FIRST link, because the second link is the music i uploaded.
But till now i still don't know how to open it like the FIRST link in simple form. PLEASE HELP ME.THANKS. 🙂

  17. good info i tried this a while ago i think you can also stream a source if you replace the mp3 file location with for example radio station like a shoutcast radio station stream.
